Welcome to Preschool!
I am looking forward to an exciting and fun filled year in preschool with you all.
This site will be used to keep you well informed and up to date on all things preschool. On this "Home" page you will be able to find important information about some of the logistics of our program and our class. On the "Blog" page you will find weekly updates about what we have been up to in the classroom. On the "Winnie the Bear" page you will find information about what we will be doing with Winnie the Bear.

About The Teachers
A little bit about me. This will be my first year teaching at Waitsfield Elementary School (W.E.S). However, my roots with W.E.S go back much farther. I attended W.E.S as a student, and realized I loved it so much I couldn't stay away. I came back during my senior year in high school for an internship within the preschool. I then studied Early Childhood Education at UVM and came back last year working as a paraeducator in the preschool and throughout the school. I am all about learning through play and providing opportunities that are connected to children's interests. I am very excited to see what this year will bring!
Emily Church, Preschool Teaching Assistant, will also be in our classroom and has been working at W.E.S with the preschool for eighteen years. We are so lucky to have her!
Lunch and Snack Information
We will have both snack and lunch during our preschool day. You are welcome to order school snack and/or lunch at the beginning of the day. At our sign in table there will be a place where children can order school lunch ("hot lunch") or home lunch ("cold lunch"). There will also be a snack order form at the table. I will have the snack and lunch menu posted in the classroom, but you can also find the menu on our school's page under "Quick Links" http://www.waitsfieldschool.org
You will receive more information about school lunches and snacks from the school and how to sign up for these options.
If you plan to bring a lunch from home ("cold lunch"), we ask that it be a ready-to-eat lunch as we do not have the capability to heat up everyone's lunches.
Birthdays
Birthdays are a very exciting time. We are happy to celebrate your child's birthday in the classroom. We ask that if you send in a treat you send in enough for the whole class. This year we will have 12 students. We will typically celebrate at the end of our day or during lunch time. We kindly ask that you do not send party invitations to school with your child. The PTA will publish a school directory with all students' contact information.
Special Requests
We politely ask that you keep your child's home toys at home. They can cause many issues in the classroom among peers. We have many exciting things in our classroom for your child to enjoy.

General Information
Please send your child with a full water bottle each day. We encourage them to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Please send in an extra change of clothes for your child to keep in the classroom. We encourage exploration especially in nature so your child's clothes may get dirty.
We ask that your child has a pair of indoor shoes and outdoor shoes to help keep our classroom clean.
We also kindly ask that your child wear shoes that they can run, jump, play, climb and explore in easily, so not flip flops please as they tend to be a tripping hazard.
PE will be on Mondays with Ms. Ally. We ask that your child comes in with a pair of sneakers for PE as they will be running, jumping, climbing, etc.
Library will be on Wednesdays and your child will be able to take home a book.
Seesaw
Our class will also be using a website called Seesaw. This will be a way for you to see what your individual child has been up to. I will send out a link to you attached to your child's journal for you set up an account. This will be a space where I post photos of our adventures in preschool.

Bus
Someone from our preschool team will ride the bus with the children to their destination.
